This is the main area where you manage your answerSpace. In this window, you can set a number of default options that control how your answerSpace looks and behaves.
You access this via ‘answerSpace Setup’.
The following options can be set in this window, depending on whether you choose to run the BICv2 (legacy) or the BICv3.

Note: All options set here will override the equivalent options set at the Category and Interaction levels, unless the ‘Inherit’ option has been specifically turned off at that level.
General
These options govern the way the answerSpace is set up and arranged. It includes the answerSpace site structure and BIC settings.
Name
The internal name for the answerSpace.
A unique name to use for references (links, etc).
Starting with a letter, use only use letters, numbers, and underscores (_).
Display Name
The name displayed in the Title Bar when the window is opened.
The caption or title to display to users.
Any combination of characters is allowed. Title may be concatenated on multi tab browsers.
Description
Brief description of the purpose of this item.
Order
Value to use when sorting this item in a list.
Value can be of a positive or negative number.
Status
Enable or disable access to this item.
Inactive items are hidden and treated as though they do not exist.
Display
Show or hide this item
Hidden items are not displayed in lists but are otherwise still accessible.
Help Message
Here you can add a message to display when help button is pressed.
Blink Intelligent Client
BICv2 Options
BICv2 is the "Built-In" Platform based Blink Intelligent Client (BIC). As so it comes complete with built in navigation screens.
The built in navigation structure can be done in this area of the answerSpace setup.
See site navigation for more details.
Default Screen
You can choose to automatically navigate users to a particular screen. Choices include:
- Home
- Interactions
- Login (interaction)
- Category
- Master Category.
Default Interaction
If the Default Screen is set to "Interaction", you can select the interaction that users will be navigated to.
Default Category
If the Default Screen is set to "Category", you can select the category that users will be navigated to.
Default Master Category
If the Default Screen is set to "Master Category", you can select the master category that users will be navigated to.
Site Structure
Within BICv2 you can set the site structure.
Whether the answerSpace uses Interactions, Categories or Master Categories as its navigational structure.
BICv2 Look & Feel
TBICv2 is the "Built-In" Platform based Blink Intelligent Client (BIC). As so it comes complete with global CSS settings controlling the answerSpace look and feel.
These options control how the answerSpace looks and behaves. Use CSS when prompted without tags.
All global CSS set in this section can be overrode by Interaction or Category level styles.
Icon
This is the Image used to represent the answerSpace when a user saves to their Home screen.
Logo Banner
When the answerSpace is displayed, this is the banner shown in the Header, unless overridden by settings at a lower level such as Categories.
Splash Image
The image used for the Splash screen is entered here. See Splash Screens for more information on how to use this option.
Odd Row Style
If there is more than one Category contained within the answerSpace, then this controls how odd rows (the first, third, fifth etc) are displayed, provided the contained Categories have been set up to be displayed in List View. (See answerSpace Options for more details or Styling).
Exceptions to this are margin and padding css.
Even Row Style
See above.
Background Style
Will affect the background colour of the box within the answerSpace - NOT the background colour of the answerSpace Page. This can be overridden at a lower level, provided ‘Inherit’ has not been turned on. (See Styling for more details).
Interface Style
Affects the background of the answerSpace Screen.
Input Prompt Style
Any input prompts can be styled here.
Vanilla Visual Style
Set to ‘True’ to prevent devices overriding your Styling. Set to ‘False’ to allow this.
Web-clip Pre-compose
Set to ‘True’ to prevent devices overriding the Graphic resolution etc. Set to ‘False’ to allow this.
CSS Reset Version
You can choose to set a reset version for Browsers that do not have certain CSS features. You should have CSS style overrides defined as part of the Advanced Styling if you choose this.
Category Behaviour
These options govern how Master Categories behave, provided ‘Inherit’ has not been turned off at the Master Category level.
Display
Icon or Text. Choose whether to have a graphic represent the Category or a simple text list.
Arrangement
List or a choice of 2, 3, or 4 Columns. The column settings only work if the Category is being displayed as an Icon.

These options help you style the Header and Footer
Intro Message
This is the message that is displayed at the top of the first screen the user sees. Use simple text. You can use things like Javascript however, it is not supported.

A message or image/Link can be put in here (use CSS for the latter). You can use Javascript however, it is not supported.
Footer Position
You can choose to enforce the position of the footer to stay at the bottom of the screen or page. (Note that the term ‘page’ is interpreted differently by individual devices.

Sidebar Display
Choose whether the Sidebar that is displayed on larger screens is rendered in Icons (must exist for the relevant items) or Text. You can also disable it from appearing.

Localisation
Only use these options if the answerSpace will be used by non-English speakers. If in doubt, leave this at the default.
Content Language
Should be left at the default ‘en’ (English) unless this answerSpace will be used by non-English speakers. Make sure the code you enter is correct.
Character Encoding
Leave at default.
Time Zone
Allows you to choose your local time zone
Security
This set of options are used when you require users to login to the answerSpace. See Custom Logins before changing any of these options.
Disabled Message
Type in a custom message to use when access to the answerSpace has been disabled (i.e. for maintenance).
Login Access
If you have defined Custom Logins, set this to be true. Ensure you are familiar with the procedures described in the Knowledgebase article called "Custom Logins" before proceeding.
Login Prompt
Choose the Interaction that contains your Login Prompt. See Custom Logins.
Login Status
Choose the Interaction that will display the user’s Login Status. See Custom Logins.
User Groups
Choose which User Groups can access this answerSpace and everything it contains.
Registered Only
Define whether this answerSpace (and everything it contains) can only be accessed by registered users. See Custom Logins.
Registered Only Message
Define whether this answerSpace (and everything it contains) can only be accessed by registered users. See Custom Logins.
User Groups
Choose which User Groups can access this answerSpace and everything it contains.
Secure SSL Connections
Choose whether to use encrypted Login Connections.
Advanced
This is where you will input most of the Styling options discussed in Styling. Many of the options that are non-functional above can be styled using the Advanced Stylesheet and the ‘Inspect’ function in your development Browser.
Style Sheet
You can build a complete CSS style sheet and put it in here. Use the ‘Inspect’ option in your development Browser to identify which elements you wish to style. Many options that you cannot style through the Admin tools discussed above can be directly styled here. See Styling for more information.
Bookmark Prompt
When a user wants to save to their Home Screen, prompt them with Bookmark Instructions.
Download Timeout
Set the default timeout when the answerSpace downloads information or images.
Upload Timeout
Set the default timeout when the answerSpace uploads information or images.
Application Mode
You can choose to run the answerSpace as a web app - enabling the Splash screen and disabling Browser Navigation Bars and Location Bars.
Application Mode Status Bar
If you wish to run the answerSpace in Application Mode - you can choose how the App Bar appears to the user.
Offline Mode
Use with Caution. Only enable this if you have finished developing your answerSpace and nothing in it requires interactive updating. This option prevents the answerSpace from updating from the server and is mainly used for finished answerSpaces used primarily in offline mode. (See the Knowledge Base articles on Data Suitcases and Offline Mode).
Offline Mode Manifest
If you are using Offline Mode, you will need to create an Offline Mode Manifest. HTML5 provides the ability to access the web application even without a network connection using this cache manifest. For more information, see Cache Manifest in HTML5.
Basic Mode Fallback
This controls when the answerSpace falls back to working in Basic Mode. See Browser Limitations for more details.
Basic Mode Disabled Message
Set the message that is shown to the user when their Browser cannot display the contents of the answerSpace or what it contains.
Load External Javascripts
Enter the URLs of any external Javascripts that are used by your Interactions or other objects in your answerSpace.
Load External CSS
If you are using external CSS Style sheets (for example, corporate style sheets stored on your server), enter the complete URL of the sheet here. You can also use this to load URLs to web fonts such as those found at Typekit, Font Squirrel and Google Webfonts.
Forms
These options control how forms are processed within the answerSpace.
Pending Forms Navigation Button
Choose whether to display the Pending Forms button on the Navigation bar. This button allows your users to view the Pending forms in their queue.
Active Forms via Navigation
If you have Interactions that control how your active forms behave, you can choose to implement custom active forms behaviour.
Native Applications
These options control how ‘Appfied’ answerSpaces behave.
Image Capture Quality
If your users will be taking lots of photos or uploading images, you can reduce the load on the database by controlling the Image Capture Quality. The recommended default for reasonable usage is 60%.
Image Capture Scale
This controls how the images are scaled to fit into the field or other area when uploaded.
Storage Quota
You can choose to reserve specific storage space on some devices. Not all devices respect this setting.
Domain Whitelist
List here any domains that 'break out' the answerSpace. This is primarily used when the answerSpace is appified.
BIC- JQM Options
BIC-JQM (BICv3) is a jQuery Mobile implementation of The Blink Intelligent Client.

Use Home Interaction
Should an interaction be used for the default home screen (True or False).
Home Interaction
Define a specific Interaction that will be used when a user clicks a 'Home' link when the "use home Interaction" option is set to "True".
Look & Feel
These options control how the answerSpace looks and behaves. Use CSS when prompted without tags.
Default Page Transition
Choose from the drop down list, how each screen in the answerSpace loads.
ThemeRoller theme pack
Once your ThemeRoller CSS file has been downloaded and uploaded into the Assets Manager, select it here.
theme swatch
Choose either 'a', 'b' or 'c' as the default theme swatch. If no swatch is chosen, then the 'a' swatch will be used for first level objects, the 'b' swatch for second level objects and the 'c' swatch for third level objects. See About ThemeRoller for a more detailed explanation.

Footer Position

interaction result cache time on device
Choose how often the device should check for a newer version of the information it is using. The smaller the number, the more often the cache will refresh.
CDN location
Ensure that the location shown is the one that holds your assets.
Load External Javascript
Enter the URLs of any external Javascripts that are used by your Interactions or other objects in your answerSpace.
Load External CSS
If you are using external CSS Style sheets (for example, corporate style sheets stored on your server), enter the complete URL of the sheet here. You can also use this to load URLs to web fonts such as those found at Typekit, Font Squirrel and Google Webfonts.
Log Level
Enable debugging and at what level.
Native Applications
These options control how ‘Appfied’ answerSpaces behave.

Top Level Categories
In Bic-JQM you can set the "Top Level " categories for the answerSpace navigation.
This explicitly force items to appear at the top-level of your answerSpace.
Note: Interactions / Categories without any navigation tags will already appear at the top-level. Use this feature to show an Interaction both at the top-level and within a Category (for example).
