When a dashboard is first created, you'll have to select a structure for your widgets and a dashboard name - These can be configured later in the dashboard view, by clicking the pencil icon in the top right side of the screen, below the blue header.
This will place your dashboard into edit mode. It's important to note here that no changes will be saved, unless you close edit mode with the floppy disk icon, which saves the current configuration.
The gear icon allows us to go into the dashboard properties view that we seen when first creating the dashboard, and from here we can edit the dashboard name, and the widget structure.
