Analytics Console: Add a Widget
- Aaron Roworth
Widgets are added from within the edit view, by clicking the widget icon, which is next to the save and edit options (the floppy disk and gear icons).
Widget Types
Next, you'll be given a list of widget types to select from:
- Bar - Displays Bar Chart
- Counter - Displays Flat Value
- Line - Displays Line Chart
- MultiSeries - Displays Multi Series Bar Chart
- MultiSeries - Displays Multi Series Line Chart
- Pie - Displays Pie Chart
If we select Bar, an empty Bar widget will be added to the page. The section of the page it's placed into determines its size and layout. These sections are determined by the structure property we selected before, in the dashboard properties, and can be identified on the page by the dotted grey lines.Â
To resize this widget, move it to a larger sized section, and the widget will resize itself:
Clicking the Edit icon in the top right hand side of the widget allows us to configure the title and design, as well as the query used by the widget to display data. Here, we'll just be using it to edit the widget title and title colour.
Now, we can give the widget any title we like, and change the colour to something more appealing.Â
Next up, we'll finish off this widget by selecting a query to display on it.
